Rob Buckley has been teaching at Rotolo Middle School in Batavia, IL since 1998. At RMS, he conducts the three Sixth Grade Bands, teaches seventh and eighth-grade band technique classes, directs the Jazz Band (open-enrollment jazz ensemble), and directs two percussion ensembles. He also teaches fifth-grade lessons at Hoover-Wood Elementary School. Rob has served on his school's School Leadership Team and has been a faculty representative to the local music booster organization. He is an active adjudicator in the Chicago area. He is passionate about teaching middle school students and sharing his love of music. He has presented at the National Middle School Association annual convention with Keith Ozsvath and Lisa Hatfield and the Illinois Music Educators Conference in Peoria with Bill Rank. In addition, Rob has co-taught part of a class at VanderCook College. A huge proponent of Comprehensive Musicianship through Performance (CMP), he joined the Illinois CMP Committee in the Fall of 2014. The committee teaches a graduate level course through Northern Illinois University each summer. He has been listed in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers." As an active percussionist, Rob performs with the Naperville Municipal Band and the contemporary choir at his church. Rob lives in Batavia with his amazing wife Melissa and his two dogs Savannah and Addie!
